During the study of the multi-component peptide bioregulator LiverTIDE PLUS effectiveness, there were 5 patients of the main group (3 men and 2 women ages 53-74 years) and 3 patients of the control group of the same sex and age who took part in the study with a diagnosis of chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis.

The main complaints were made by the patients; characteristics were: toxic polyneuropathy (comorbidity in patients included in the study), general weakness, increased fatigue, weakness and paresthesia in the lower extremities, and difficulty walking. It should be noted that chronic liver diseases are characterized by a long absence of symptoms of the disease. For a while, a person can feel healthy with only increased fatigue. Pain in the right hypochondrium, where the liver is located, is rarely observed in chronic hepatitis and liver cirrhosis. It may be due to concomitant damage to the gallbladder or close location of the duodenum and colon. Another reason for the asymptomatic course of chronic liver damage is its effective compensatory-regenerative mechanisms. The prolonged absence of hepatic symptoms is the leading cause of late detection of liver diseases. All patients had not previously received any medical drug therapy since the detection of chronic toxic hepatitis. It was random (due to the absence of characteristic complaints and clinical symptoms). During the study, patients in the control group received treatment by using conventional means, and patients in the main group, in addition to standard means, were prescribed to intake multi-component peptide bioregulator LiverTIDE PLUS, 2 capsules daily for 30-45 days, depending on the severity of the pathological process. Before and after therapy, the dynamics of patients’ complaints, general clinical blood and urine tests, biochemical blood tests, and ultrasound results were analyzed.

It was found that the use of the multicomponent peptide bioregulator LiverTIDE PLUS in all patients with chronic toxic hepatitis contributed to a decrease in the clinical demonstration of liver failure, decrease and stabilisation of the biochemical parameters of liver transaminases (ALT, ACT), alkaline phosphatase, and blood amylase. After a long-term complex intake (more than 30 days), all the above biochemical parameters in half of the patients were normalised in the main group. More rapid regression of clinical symptoms was revealed in patients of the main group compared to the control group (by 4D ± 1.4 days on average). There was also a regression of the symptoms of toxic polyneuropathy in the form of an increase and/or restoration of sensitivity in the lower limbs and an improvement in walking stability. According to the results of liver ultrasound examination, there was a decrease in the dynamics of its size by an average of 17.8 + 2.3 mm in patients of the main group and by 12.4 + 2.2 mm in patients of the control group. Ultrasound signs of fatty liver hepatosis in patients remained.

It should be noted that a more stable and pronounced effect of improving liver functions was observed with the more extended intake of the multicomponent peptide bioregulator LiverTIDE PLUS for 40-45 days, which allows us to conclude about the dependence of the clinical effect on the duration of taking this complex.
