Lion's Mane is a “smart” mushroom and a natural nootropic

Lion's Mane is a “smart” mushroom and a natural nootropic

The medicinal mushroom Hericium erinaceus, also known as Lion’s mane, is recognized as a valuable source of bioactive substances and is used in traditional medicine to stimulate neuronal activity, improve cognitive abilities, normalize sleep, maintain stomach acidity and blood cholesterol levels, blood pressure and blood circulation.

Medicinal mushroom complex is a 70% extract of peptide-polysaccharide complex. To obtain 1 kg of highly concentrated 70% extract, about 35 kg of environmentally friendly organic mushroom raw materials are used. Due to the high content of beta-glucans, polysaccharides, polysaccharide peptides in the mushroom, Lion’s Mane has immunostimulating, antitumor, neuroprotective, gastroprotective, antiviral and antibacterial properties.

Lion’s Mane and neurodegenerative diseases

First of all, Lion’s Mane mushroom is classified as a natural nootropic.

The chemical composition of the mushroom contains erinacins and hericenones, which promote the natural production of growth factors (NGF) — a protein that maintains the viability of neurons, stimulating their development and restoration. Erinacin and hericenon are able to cross the blood-brain barrier, which protects the brain and nervous system from exposure to harmful substances and have a positive effect on the restoration of neural connections in the brain after traumatic brain injury and stroke.

The active components of the mushroom are involved in the regeneration of myelin, which forms the sheath around nerve fibers. The destruction of the protective myelin sheath of neurons by amyloid plaques in brain tissue leads to serious dysfunction of the nervous system, causes mental retardation, and provokes the development of neurological and mental diseases. In place of the destroyed myelin sheath, fibrous tissue is formed, which blocks nerve impulses, the brain cannot issue commands and the functioning of all organs is disrupted. The death of brain cells, destruction of neural connections and the myelin sheath lead to such serious diseases as Alzheimer’s disease, senile dementia, dementia, and multiple sclerosis.

Unfortunately, today it is impossible to completely cure these diseases, but prophylactic intake of the polysaccharide peptide complex Hericium erinaceus based on the medicinal mushroom Lion's Mane helps to increase mental performance, cognitive abilities, prevent brain aging, and regular intake of the complex in combination with the main therapy to delay the onset and slow down the progression of diseases, improve self-care, social adaptation after brain injury or neurodegenerative disease.

Medicinal mushroom Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) has a general calming effect, improves sleep, reduces anxiety, and symptoms of depression

Lion’s Mane inhibits the growth of Helicobacter pylori and the development of gastrointestinal diseases

The mushroom extract contains fibers and substances that promote the development of beneficial microflora in the intestines, and help regulate acidity levels, reduce the severity of inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract and prevent a number of diseases. Studies have shown that Lion's Mane mushrooms suppresses the growth of the pathogenic bacterium Helicobacter pylori and neutralizes the effect of stomach acidity, which makes the mushroom extract very effective in preventing gastrointestinal inflammation.

Peptide-polysaccharide complex Lion’s Mane helps improve blood circulation in the gastrointestinal tract, stimulates the absorption of nutrients by the intestine, prevents the development of diseases such as gastritis, ulcers, erosion of the stomach and esophagus, cancer of the stomach, intestines, esophagus, pancreas, irritable bowel syndrome , dysbacteriosis, ulcerative colitis.

Antitumor effect

The mushroom extract has an antioxidant effect and is used in the complex treatment of malignant and benign tumors. The complex use of PSP complex Lion’s Mane (Hericium erinaceus) in combination with the main therapy of oncological diseases slows down tumor growth and reduces the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Hericium erinaceus reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease

Research on Lion’s Mane mushroom has shown that taking mushroom extract improves fat metabolism, reduces triglyceride levels and promotes weight loss. Mushroom extract improves blood flow, has a thinning effect, prevents blood clots, and normalizes cholesterol levels and blood pressure.

Strengthening the immune system and post-Covid syndrome

The chemical components of the mushroom extract activate cells of the immune system, have a positive effect on the composition of intestinal bacteria, increasing the body’s intestinal immunity, and contribute to the formation of protection for nerve fibers and the restoration of brain cells.

PSP complex Hericium erinaceus (Lion’s Mane) is presented in packs of 30 capsules for preventive purposes and in packs of 90 capsules for therapeutic purposes.
